As a young girl, I had an opportunity to meet Maya Angelou, I
was old enough to understand she was a writer, poet and activist, but not old
enough to understand the messages imparted in the literature. As time progressed, I began to read her books
and interpret her poetry. In hindsight I realized her wisdom has been with me
most of my life.
I truly know why The caged bird Sings, I understand why I’m a phenomenal women, when people show
me who they are, I believe them. Thank
you Maya Angelou!
